Cookies

interim -> this is our working notice. Everything on it is true today. A fuller version is being finalised; when it changes, the date above changes.

What this site sets

Members who sign in get euforyc_member: a random session identifier and its signature — never your email — that keeps you signed in to the members area for 30 days or until you sign out. It is set only when you open your sign-in link, and it is strictly necessary for the area to work.

One cookie for visitors, euforyc_attr. On your first visit it records the campaign tags in the link you arrived by, the referring site and the page you landed on, so that if you later join the list or apply we know which post brought you. It lasts 30 days and is read only when you submit a form.

Two pieces of browser storage, which are not cookies and never leave your device: euforyc_intro, in session storage, remembers that you have seen the opening animation for this visit; euforyc_application_v1 and euforyc_membership_v1, in local storage, save your retreat or membership application draft as you type so a closed tab loses nothing. A draft is deleted when you send the application, or after seven days untouched.

What other services set

Cloudflare Turnstile, the human check on the join and apply forms, may set cookies on its own domain to tell people from bots. Cloudflare Stream, which plays the films in the album, may set playback cookies when you open a film. Cloudflare’s own privacy policy governs both.

Choice

The attribution cookie is not essential to the site working, and we are reviewing whether to ask before setting it. For now it is set on your first visit without a banner. You can block or delete it in your browser’s settings at any time; every page of the site works without it.
